Yes it can, along with tons of other activities. Falling off your bicycle, sex toys, horseback riding, and many, many more. As an indicator of virginity it's pretty much useless, some women's hymens are so small or elastic that they never break, and others are fragile enough that they're broken before puberty. Normal ones can be broken through any of the above mentioned activities and thousands more, to boot.It's not something to worry about: they break too often before the loss of virginity and most women don't even notice.--namonaihito

 Yes, it can. Usually people associate an intact hymen with a girl's virginity, but some sports and activites, along with tampon use can even tear the hymen. Hope that helps.~Des
