hey guys,

I am a young woman in my 20's and i have a question. How is it like to be in a relationship with a 40 year old man? Can you have a healthy sex life with them or is it not that frequent.

willywombat agony auntSorry -- I meant usually the older you are the more time you have had to perfect your technique!! Practice makes perfect and all that!

my husband is 50 and im 38 and he is the most caring lover in bed, he thinks of me and my pleasure before his own, i would def advise getting an older man, young guys are just too selfish.

Perhaps I should get my girlfriend to answer that for you! I'm 46, she's 32 and we've been together for 12 years. All I can say is that we still have an excellent, and frequent, sex life.

Obviously things vary from person to person - their health, their lifestyle, their own, basic, sex-drive - but there's no real reason why someone in their forties (and fifties and sixties)shouldn't still be very sexually active and, for all their experience, possibly a better and more confident lover too.

In the end, the thing that's most likely to diminish or dilute your sex life together is not really his age, but whether the basic attraction fades over time, or you become stale and bored. That's the principle danger to most relationships - not the ages of the individuals.

willywombat agony auntAs with anything chronological age can be blamed for a lot. The age of forty is no precluder to good sex, in fact age and experience can make it a whole lot better. Very often younger lovers (of both sexes)can be shy and embarrassed about the sexual act or shy about their bodies, older participants can have more body confidence and plain, old fashioned practice! This is in my experience anyway!

Lilly223 agony auntTHAT totally depends on the guy... being 40 myself, I think I'm qualified to answer... No the frequency may not as high as if they were 18 (but there are exceptions :) ) but generally they are much more sincere, romantic, caring, and concerned about your pleasure than much younger men are. I assuming your question really is "Is he going to be able to keep up with me?" I'd bet money he will. :)
