According to Tracey Telles, obstetrician and fertility specialist
Well, no, you can't get your period once you're pregnant — once your body starts producing the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and your pregnancy is established, your menstrual cycle is interrupted and normal periods stop. But you may have bleeding or spotting during pregnancy that can seem like a period.

reader, anonymous, writes (27 February 2008): Yes, you can be pregnant and still get your period. Interestingly enough, I read an article in Baby Talk magazine (I was bored waiting for my pap smear) and there was a real article about a woman who went into labor on a camping trip...and didn't even know she was pregnant until her water broke! She'd been getting her period (although light) the entire time and assumed she was putting on weight because she was hungry!
This is very unlikely but it's not uncommon for a woman to get her period while she's pregnant. As the other two have said, get a pregnancy test if you are suspicious.

the answer is yes. i was 13 weeks pregnant when i found out. i was having periods and continued to have periods until about six months into my pregnancy. find out if you are. you don't want to cause any potential harm to your baby because you didn't know for certain. I also had periods with my second child

Just take a pregnancy test. Its the sure way to know. Just go to walmart, buy one test, go the bathroom and take the test and you'll know for sure. It's hell not knowing so just take the test and get it out of your mind.
