reader, anonymous, writes (8 March 2011): If you qualify for unemployment benefits in New Jersey, those benefits are transferable to North Carolina and all other states. Contact the New Jersey State Department of Labor, Unemployment Insurance Division for additional information. You will be okay.

No you can't because you voluntarily quit your job. In some cases you can collect but relocation is not cover under unemployment benefits.
