Can producing too much semen be a problem?

Question - (20 September 2008) 8 Answers - (Newest, 6 October 2008)
A male Canada age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Hi all,

I've been told a few times now that I ejaculate quite a lot of semen/sperm, so I started to read about it and discovered that the average man ejaculates about 2-6 ml of semen.

I did my own little test (with an old medicine cup!) and my measurement of my semen volume was 11 ml.

Can producing a larger than average amount of semen actually be a bad thing, and if so when?

Thanks!

I have been doing some research about the amount of semen and problems associated with it. If you are trying to conceive a child, the amount of semen can be a problem. If you have too little or too much then you may have some fertility issues. This could be caused from a prostate problem or other male issues. I would check with my doctor to make sure that there isn't any underlying issues that you should take care of. Good luck.

It may mean he produces large amounts of Semen but low amounts of Sperm, the two are quite separate. Get it tested if its worry and you want to get your partner pregnant but its not happening....

I produce about 15ml and its mostly semen but still enuf to get my partner pregnant, plus she loves watching me come!

Thanks for the replies. Makes me feel a little better! Sugarcookie, you make me sound like a robot!

Ok, although it may not appear a problem medically speaking, could it be on a personal level, i mean...

Would it be a turn off (or even a turn on for that matter)? Now which lady is going to be brave enough to answer?!

Thanks again

No it just more than likely means that you are a baby making machine. LOL! If you are truely scared you could bring it up at your next doctors visit but i'm positive your fine.

Only if you don't get enough sex.

Would that just mean you have a high sperm count?
