Yea.. ask kittycat, she's young enough to know about these things... lol
Contraception is free even after the age of 16. Just don't go to the chemist, they charge you for the morning after pill, which you shouldn't need to use because your sorting out your protection now.

Right then, I got the cervical cancer jabs but I still believe you have to go for certain tests but only every few years. Not painful or anything, so I've heard. Since you're under 16, it will be completely free for you on the NHS. It was for me.On the implant, 20% of people's periods stop. I still have mine but they're really light and painless now which is good. For the first year your periods may be all over the place and last either longer or shorter than you intended, but if you take the pill at the same time for a year it will soon settle down and you can control when you get them and so on. If you have any more questions, let us know :)x

hahahaha.. now I'm showing me age...I forgot that you young people get jabs now.. lol.. well, you'll remember to ask the doctors and the nurse about that, cause I really don't know.. :)
Nope... FREE, FREE, FREE... just not sure if the doctor has condoms.
wow.. your pushing me now.. didn't have implants in my day.. :) Just looked it up, and your periods are supposed to stop. some women had bleeding, some put on weight. But that's why you must get them from a doctor or nurse. They are there to make sure everything is well and recommend the right contraception for you.

1.)do you still have to get a test for cervical cancer if you have received the cervical cancer vaccination?
2.)if you go to your GP, do you have to pay?
3.) if you get the implant, does it show? and do you still get periods with it?
thanks again for all the help (Y)

I'm 15 years old and I got the implant and went on the pill, both without my mum or a friend there. I did tell my mum but the doctors keep it all completely confidential if you do not want her to know. They will do it for people who are 13 and over, I believe, as long as you do not have a history of certain illnesses and such. Just go to your local GP. That's what I did.

Sorry, me again.. lol
You can take a friend with you, or your mum to give you support so you don't feel nervous. Better still, take your boyfriend, the people at the clinic would love to see the both of you. Not enough men come forward and take part in the need for sexual protection.
There are also a couple of things that you two need to do reguarly to keep yourselves healthy. Once you start having sex, you'll need to have a cervical smear test every 3 years to protect against cancer. You should also start checking your breast regularly for any strange lumps, you need to start looking after yourself and protecting against cancer.
Your boyfriend can get condoms free at the clinic. The test for him is to prevent against Testicular Cancer. Just like you, he has to feel his balls at least once a month. Ask at the clinic about these three tests that you need to do. That's why it would be brilliant if he could go with you. So many men did from Testicular cancer, and it's totally preventable.

Good your in Britain.. Contact your nearest family planning clinic. They will provide you with all the information you need. The service is free and confidential. They will be happy to see that you are carefully thinking about your sexual health. Do not be scared, they are there to help you and are used to dealing with teenagers.
NHS... http://www.nhs.uk/Pages/HomePage.aspx
Type in your postcode to find the location of your nearest family planning clinic. Contraception is available free, you do not need to pay anything.

Yes you can get the pill before your 16, go to your local family planning clinic to discuss options or even your G.P. There are many other forms of contraceptives available which may be more suitable for you.
Your mum is correct about condoms, the pill will only protect you from pregnancy, condoms will protect you from pregnancy and the many sexually transmitted infections that are out there, please remember that you can't tell someones sexual health just by looking at them, many infections have no obvious symptoms.
You could take the pill and use a condom, which will give you full protection.

Hi there.
I think they will do. I'm positive they will if you have a parent with you, I'm pretty sure they will without a parent if you're under 16, but definatly with one. As your mum is so understanding you could aske her to go with you? If she won't I'm sure they will prescribe it to an under 16 as it can be prescribed for heavy periods not just for sex.
Hope this helps :)
