Can I get the Pill without having to see doctors or take blood tests?

Me and my first boyfriend are planning on getting serious in our relationship for the first time and I'm wondering if I should go on the pill. The only problem is I have a huge fear of doctors and I would like to know if they do any sort of tests before giving you the pill. Also I'm worried about the side effects and becoming ill from using them. My boyfriend thinks condoms should be enough. I'm 18 and he's 21 and he's very understanding. Is there any sort of drop in center where I can just get some pills without any kinds of tests (I'm scared of needles and my sister said they do bloodtests first!) I'm not sure what to do. Help!

no you dont need to get blood tests done, but yes you do have to get the pill from a doctor because he has to make sure you get the right one that isnt going to cause problems for you.

You can go to your local family planning clinic (if u live in the uk) just dearch online for a brook advisory clinic. You do not need to have tests done, but the pill isnt perfect for everyonr and sometimes you will need to change until youfind the right one. Good luck kuv n hugs oxoxo

They don't do blood tests in the US for pills. All they do is a female exam which does NOT include needles. If you are going to be having sex, going to the gynecologist is something you need to get used to anyway. Its not bad, just a little uncomfortable at first. You get used to it. You need to be going to one to checked out yearly at your age now anyway. Good Luck. And, don't worry, the pills did not make me sick or give me side affects. Actually only good ones, like a lighter period and clear skin.
