You sound guite young, and you are busy discovering who you are and where you fit in.
That's why I think you should stop playing with other's feelings. It is very hurtful to take someones heart thro your on/off rollercoaster. Just enjoy where you are here and now.

What reason - if any - was given? Without knowing a little more about the circumstances, its hard to give you an answer......generally speaking though, once you end a relationship - or he ends it - it is better to let it go and move on.
You COULD try calling him, or inviting him out for coffee and talk about what happened, and how you feel about it - but don't blame him or act resentful! Listen to what he has to say. If he is willing to give it another chance, all well and good, but if not, you will really have no choice but to accept that he doesn't want to try again.
