If you are concerned about this issue I would research HPV on the internet, preferably someplace like WebMD.com HPV is a virus with over 120 different strains, about 12 or so of those strains they have found can be a cause of cervical cancer in women. In males however it is non-symptomatic, meaning there will be no symptons 99% of the time and it shouldn't cause any problems. As it is a virus, it can lay dormant in a person. As for if it can be purged from the body, i'm not sure. My doctor told me that it does over time "just go away" and that if you have a strong immune system, do not smoke, drink much alcohol and are healthy that period of time can be much shorter. This was over a year ago that I questioned her about HPV however, so I don't remember everything she told me. Go ahead and research it for yourself and if you are really concerned you can always go see a doctor of your own, or go with her to talk with hers and ask questions.
