However I’m having trouble deciding between Austin and Houston became Ive been hearing mixed reviews and we can only do one because we’re going for a short time. We’re 25 years old we like to go out and party be with people around our age, and have fun. We also love good food, to see really cool sites and want to indulge in culture. If There is any people from Texas or anyone who has ever visited please write down your input or any places that you love Will be highly appreciated. Does anyone know where to go?

I'm flying to houston soon. First thing I plan on doing is getting out of town.
Going to Corpus Christi.

Why not see both places?
You will probably fly into to Houston but you can drive to Austin. It's only a 2 1/2 hour drive.
Houston is HUGE city (4th largest in the US) and spans well over 50 miles from one end to the other. You get pretty much everything there - just like any other large city. Austin on the other hand is small compact, it is a University town and of course the Government buildings since it is the capital of Texas.
And it all comes down to what you enjoy. You mention partying and culture and food. What kind of culture? What kind of food are you thinking of? What kind of a budget do you have?
Austin has UT (University of Texas) so... obviously a lot of college ages youngsters there. They have a couple of museums there too (so a little culture there).

I have only driven though Houston, we didn't stop. And I'm not a HUGE fan of HUGE cities. Austin however, we did have a stop over at and I liked it. It's not quite as overwhelming and its MUCH better planned and laid out. But you youngsters might not care about that :) And of course Houston.... has NASA.
If you don't have a car to travel with, I'd stick to Houston you will have PLENTY to do there.
Just do some google searches and you will find a enormous variety of things to do, see and eat there.
