writes:hello, can a woman successfully date a codependent enabler man ? we have been dating 3 years and so far nothing but a promise ring. he all the time does everything everyone ask him to do. his son-in-law is a bully and talks to him with no respect and this man that i date does so much for this disrespectful son-in-law. this man just keeps on doing because he cannot say no. his family does not have any boundaries.he told me this himself. it is very frustrating for me but i dearly love this man and would like to get married. please tell me what you think. thanks Reply to this Question

Your partner sounds like a lovely man who just wants to help, But unfortunatly is being abused for his kindness. Some people can take kindness as weakness and its not. His son inlaw is just being plain nasty hunny, This must hurt and frustrate you a great deal, You need to sit and talk with him and let him read this if you wish, as your concerns are for his well being as you love him so much. He needs to be told how much you really care and that you hate to see him being treated this way as its hurting you to see him being bullied as that is what it is, It would be such a shame to let this love pass you by because of someone elses doing, I wish you all the best and hope you can make him understand how this is affecting you.
