A male United Kingdom, anonymous writes:

Hi there,

I have been chatting to this girl on the internet, she is 25, and i am 34. We have been sending emails back and forth to each other, then we sent pictures of ourselves, then after about 4 weeks we started chatting on the phone. We got along so well, we talked for hours at night, and even some lunchtimes. We finally arranged to meet up, so instead of meeting for a drink like most people do we went on a day out to a theme park, Chessington world of adventures, it was brilliant, we had a smashing time, we laughed, joked, and flirted bigtime. and after we went into town for a meal, the perfect end to the perfect day, we even held hands walking back, and in ther car too. Since then she has become a little bit despondant, i sent her a text in the week wishing her well and saying that i hope we are still friends- she repled to that saying that she has not been very well lately, she got sent home from work on Wednesday as she keeps being sick, and said of course we are still friends, we spoke after that and she said she is still up for meeting up at easter. I sent her a text on Saturday morning wishing her well, but as of yet i have not heard anything back. I know she said ages ago that she was having something done at the hospital on Saturday 4th. Am i reading to much into this and being silly as its only been a few days. We got along extemely well when we met, i feel she would not have continued the date into the evening after the theme park if she thought it went rubbish, and we both knew what each other looked like and sounded like before we met. I feel i really connected to this girl and really want to see her again- i have in no way been pestering her like sending her text after text, i have just sent her 2 texts wishing her well, thats all, one she replied to, and one she has not. How long do you think i should leave it before i move on?.

Thanks

A female reader, DrPsych United Kingdom +, writes (5 April 2009):

DrPsych agony auntInstincts tell you it went well and the girl sounds poorly so she maybe distracted. Anyway leave it a week or so and phone her. No more texts as that is a confusing way to communicate - you will know more from the tone in her voice. Good luck

A reader, anonymous, writes (5 April 2009):

Wait a day or two...be patient! If you remember she was having something done on the 4th, she is probably recovering from that.

Things went well, you said, so don't worry about it! If you don't hear from her in a couple of days, then contact her!

Good Luck

I hope it works out!
