Boyfriend engrossed with work and now so distant!

Question - (5 August 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 23 October 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 51-59, anonymous writes:

My boyfriend of four years has recently become so engrossed with his work that that is all he focusses on. We don't live together but a couple of weeks ago we were having a lovely time. Cuddles, laughs, talking about the future, great sex. Now he has become like a different person. He has barely contacted me this week and spends every hour renovating. That is his job and the work is flooding in. He has more work than ever and he desperately needs the money as he is struggling financially but he is not making any time to contact me to say hi or he loves me. Nothing. Although i did see him at a rehearsal tonight for a play we are both in....and he was laughing in the rehearsal room but then when we got to our cars he seemed strained and distant and not like the guy he was towards me two weeks ago....we went to our separate cars and i wanted to say dont you want to make any effort to get together even for a coffee.....?...or dont you want to reassure me with a kiss or a quick love you miss you? But i didnt say anything. I dont want to be needy but he seems so distant. If i don't contact him will he miss me or think i have cooled it and dont care?

Please help.

You need to tell him to take a break. Go round his and tell him to relax a bit. Get him intrsted in you and maybe flirt a little. Tell you want to have some " together" time with him
