Love may be blind in many ways, but when it comes to fancying, then lust aint so blind. Of course, that's HIS problem, but, obviously it is by association your problem too. It doesn't seem like you've turned into a giant human blancmange (!), so it soesn't seem that drastic - and, I'm sure (if he is a fitness freak) he can help you with advice and exercise guidance.

Well he should see you are making an effort to lose it. Anyone can put on a bit of excess weight over Christmas. It is not a big deal at all. If he doesn't like it then that's his problem. Only lose the weight if you feel you would be happier that way. Don't do anything drastic and stay healthy. Then he will see that not only are you returning to your original size but you respect your own body by not doing an extreme diet to lose the weight.
Hope this helps. Message me if you need to talk. x
