Best friend of my Ex seems interested. How should I handle this? I'm not over my ex yet.

A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

So, my ex whom I lived with for two years (and still secretly have unresolved feelings for).. he left me 9 months ago and now has another girlfriend who is long distance..

Anyway, we always hung out with his one and only best friend.. I tried to delete his friend from Facebook right after ex and I split, but he wouldn't have it so we are still friends on FB (even though the ex and I are not).. Anyway, long story short, the ex's friend IM's and texts me all the time and is kind of coming onto me/flirting a bit.. I'm obviously not interested, since I am not over my ex...

I just tell the ex's friend how wonderful I am doing in hopes that he might mention it to my ex (I never bring up ex's name or ask about him)... I know that I should be over my ex, but he was the one guy I've loved more than anyone ever.

I'm sure some of you know how that goes.

But does anyone think it's strange that this guy (my ex's best friend) texts, emails?

The ex's best friend has a girlfriend with whom he's been with 5 yrs. Is this common? I'm not really sure how to handle this since he was once a good friend of mine too, when ex and I were together.

Gosh, why is my life such drama??!! All I wanted was for it to work out with ex and for us to live happily ever after. Only me!!!!
