A female Nigeria age 30-35, *halley writes:

hi everybody! happy Valentine's day!

Need some advise on the best way to end or quit a relationship that you are just tired of after a year or more .

Is it Ok to tell the other partner that 'I am tired of this relationship and I don't wish to continue with you anymore'?

Or just acting strangely by not picking up his/her calls as usual, stop returning his calls ,stop visiting and the likes ?

any advise please...

thanks

Aunty BimBim agony auntThe best way to break up is a clean break. And please, don't tell him you are tired of the relationship, that could come across as very hurtful.

Simply call, or meet up with him, and tell him, "this is not working for me".

Don't do the "we can still be friends" thing, or the "its not you, its me" because both of those are cop outs.

Honeypie agony auntThere is NEVER a "good" time to dump someone, but honestly - BE UPFRONT. Call him or ask him to meet up.

If you are "old" enough and mature enough to be in a relationship... you are old enough to call that guy/girl and tell them, hey, I don't think this is working any more. Or, if you have been dating longer, to meet up and break it to them in person.

It never gets easy.
