I told my mum but noy my dad yet as i am scared to hear his negative response. My bf's parents are ok with the situation,it is only my parents. I dont want to upset them that is why i am asking for their consent. My parents don't get along with my bf's parents(and vice versa) and my parents say that they would not be at my wedding because of his step mum( his real mum passed away). What should i do now, i really love this guy and he feels the same way?Shouldn't my parents be happy seeing me happy and put their pride away for the sake of my happiness. They are not willing(under no circumstances) to speak to my bf's parents.I am so confused between my parent and bf both of whom i love and want to see happy.

Hi
Arrrgggg i hate these situations. Your parents should be putting their differences with his family aside on this day & going to their daughters wedding!
You cant unfortunately make your parents see this sense if they refuse to.
But at the age you are, you cant let your parents dictate who you are with, marry, whatever.
I feel for you, its quite sad, and i would give it my best shot at talking to my parents if i were you, if they still refused to budge then alas you have tried your best & you have to see this as their problem, and not yours.
Good luck.
