A female age 30-35, beautygirl writes:

Ok, this article is for us ladies. It's about all things fashion and beauty related. I will be writing a weekly colmun giving tips and beauty tricks. I have been inspired to do so because of the overwhelming amount of questions i have seen regarding issues of this nature.

This column is not written with the intention to encourage the use of makeup but to encourage the love of yourself and if you feel that things will help you I am here.

Now, after that monologue i will move onto this week's beauty advice.

I know that it's not winter yet but it has been very cold as of late(not for me because i live in Florida but I've seen the temperatures in other states and it looks to be freezing) and this causes dry, irritated skin. I know that a lot of girls suffer from this annoyance.

First USE A MOISTURIZING LOTION, I know that you probably already know this but it is probably the most important step. I recommend that you use Cetaphil or Neutrogena. Also use a moisturizing body wash Dove Exfoliating body wash works well it leaves the skin really hydrated. Note: don't shower in hot water in the winter, use lukewarm water being in a warm temperature and then a cold one can make it worse.

Now for another annoying winter problem: chapped lips. This may sound crazy but rubbing your lips with a cold cucumber may get rid of chapped lips. Also there's the old standby of using Vaseline, put a small amount of it on your fingertip and gingerly rub onto lips and apply as needed. You've got chap stick as well but i would not recommend using Chap Stick the brand but using Nivea A Kiss Of Moisture it is a hydratater and it has left my lips smooth and soft it also has SPF in it to protect your lips from the sun.

Now onto fashion. I have to yell this PLAID, PLAID, PLAID. Yes surprisingly it's still in Gucci especially has exhibited it. Plaid dresses, scarves, and leggings which is a new one are in. I'd definitely pair legging with a solid color dress, putting plaid with plaid may work for the runway but not for the sidewalk.

This runway season Chanel has put a lot of ruffles on the runway and it's a trend I'm seeing with a lot of other designers as well. Wool is definitely back in. Pencil skirts, high collars, and tweed are in too. And a flashback to the eighties- shoulder pads are in. Try a jacket with shoulder pads and a ruffled blouse.

I earlier mentioned plaid leggings but leather legging are now in. Fendi models walked down the runway in leather short jackets. I'm not seeing any loud colors this winter so i guess the neon is out and natural, neutral, and black colors are in. Suede Cancan shoes are something I keep seeing. Lace is making a comeback I'm starting to see it on dresses giving normally flirty dresses an elegant and timeless look. Silk jackets are a new trend that you could possibly pair with a high necked sweater, leggings, and leather boots.

Well those are all my tips for now. See ya next week.
