1st i shave off all of the peach-fuzz facial hair (i'm half italian so there's quite a bit even though i'm a girl). Hair holds the bacteria that gets into hair follicals and causes most kinds of acne.
Next, i don't use any soaps, cleansers or treatments on my face. (My acne was horrible when i did...to the point of pitting and scarring my cheeks in places.) I rinse with water only. Also, i cant use most moisturizers, sunscreens, and can't wear makeup cuz it clogs my pores and causes me to breakout.
Finally, a hormone imbalance can cause acne. A contraceptive pill can clear up acne with this cause.

Oh home remedies, I hear witch hazel is good for clearing the skin, it won't dry out your skin like rubbing alcohol. (stay away from that it will make your skin dry in return produce more oil on your face) Toothpaste will dry out the zit a little bit. Cortizone cream will get rid of the redness..and help not to leave any scars.

If you can't afford medical treatment, try to change your lifestyle. Eat less fat and more fruits, veggies and drink a lot of water and tea. This acne thing it's related to hormones and it's quite normal at your age. You could try homemade camomille tea infusions or pot marigold cream.
When I had acne problems, I used a cream for veterinary use, I don't remember it's name though, but you could ask about it on a veterinary pharmacy.
Hope it helps :)

Search the internet for home remedies for acne. Lime juice is said to help. Use cotton pads, and gently rub juice onto skin...will sting and redden. Rinse and moisturize. Try this for a week and see how it works out for you.
I don't have acne, but I do use lime juice from time to time as I prefer natural products. You can use fresh limes, or the pure lime juice in the bottles.
Hope this works for you.

Proactive only works for like the first few weeks and doesn't work after that. I've been using it for 2 months, I can't get my adult acne to go away. Don't waste your money! I've tried everything on the shelf at the drugstore..it's a trial and error process. Try Phisoderm, (if they have it that worked for me in high school), Neutrogena acne soap bar, Oxy, Stridex pads, Aveeno acne, and that knock off Proactive they have at Wal-Mart, can't think of the name...However, if you are anything like me you have tried it, it works for like 3 weeks and then the acne is back you're going to have to see a dermatologist to get the good prescription stuff.

Within two weeks, you will see a dramatic improvement. You can speed up the claring process by drinking five cups of water, five times per day, but that requires several bathroom trips, still worth it. Worked for me.
