I am 20 and my husband is 20, we have a two year old daughter . we live in ny and on june 10th 2010 my dad passed away from heart cancer in my arms. we lived with him and he supported us finacially. we have section 8 housing and finally have our own place. we are trying our hardest to get a job but no one around us is hiring..... so we decided to go threw department of social services. long story short, they havent been helping us. i just want to know if there is any other places we can go to for help. we are poor. we have nothing. we go to my mothers house for dinner. i just need to know if there are any other departments that will help us??

I have searched the internet for you to see if there is Any departments for futher help for you !

I did find this ::Families with children younger than 21 years old who are applying for shelter must go (in-person) to the Prevention Assistance and Temporary Housing (PATH) Office in the Bronx. The PATH Office is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/dhs/html/home/home.shtml

that is in NY. I hope this helps , from personal Exp social services will take more notice if you didnt have any were to stay. that when you will be classed as a Prioriy !!!
