It's safe to ingest in terms of the makeup of the ejaculate... protein and sugars mostly as Mandy has stated.
I've never had a problem.

Swallowing cum does not carry any risks further than those of the act of oral sex itself. By itself, cum is rather harmless, but every time you put a penis into any of your cavities, you're exposing youreslf to a certain set of risks that you need to be aware of.
If you can't be monogamous, at least ensure that your men are using protection when indulging with other women.

On second thought, how can you possibly know that "the guys" for whom you've provided oral satisfaction are disease free. A number of maladies, as "Tisha-1" adroitly points out, are not at all obvious. Issues may show up weeks or months later, and you may be spreading it before you know it.
In your case, if you enjoy giving oral as many girls do, you should establish a relationship with a reliable boyfriend, have him thoroughly tested, and then you can enjoy his semen as you wish. Too much in one day, however, may cause some gastrointestinal upset. But one guy is very unlikely to produce enough sperm in one day to cause such a problem.

A number of girlfriends and a wife have swallowed plenty of cum over long periods of time, but only on a strictly monogamous basis. Never a problem. You said that you are aware of possible STDs, so other than that, there should be no problem if from a faithful boyfriend or husband.
However, you indicated that you have been with several guys over time, which would be very risky behavior indeed. Otherwise, with one reliable man, it is even considered a healthy dose occasionally.

More reading, as you seem to be concerned about your health risks: http://children.webmd.com/vaccines/news/20110623/can-hpv-vaccine-stop-throat-cancer
http://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/hpv-genital-warts/default.htm
FYI, on this website http://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/hpv-genital-warts/hpv-symptoms-tests it points this out:
"Genital warts can show up weeks or even months after sexual contact with a person infected with HPV virus. That person may not know he or she is infected and is responsible for HPV transmission.
"Some types of genital HPV infection are associated with cancer, including cervical cancer and cancer of the vulva, anus, or penis. If infection occurs with one of these virus types, precancerous changes can occur in cells in the tissue without causing any symptoms."

You should be using condoms for oral sex unless you both have been screened for HPV: http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/01/26/3691479/hpv-study-may-show-why-oral-cancer.html#tvg
I could post lots of other articles but the point is that oral sex actually is not 'safer' than intercourse and a barrier method should be used until you are in a monogamous relationship. Sorry to rain on the 'it's all good' parade but you may have a greater risk of oral cancer based on what you've just written. You won't know for many years, of course, but there it is.
Be safe.

the main ingredients in semen are as follows: water, simple sugars, alkaline substances (which neutralize the acidity of both a man's urethra and a woman's vagina), prostaglandin, vitamin C, zinc, and some cholesterol.
Swallowing semen has no ill effects, as long as you're both disease free and clean. But remember sexual diseases can be transfered including HIV.
Oh, and just in case you're interested, an ejaculation contains approximately 5 to 25 calories.

HI
Semen is full of protein, minerals (zinc Calcium), some fructose sugars and other nutrients. It has few calories, and is perfectly safe to swallow if it has no disease or germs. So enjoy :)
