 Well first off, beauty isn't always looks. I wish people would just realise that and look at the beauty in the personality. And i bet you are pretty.
Inside and out.
And if a guy doesnt like you just because your not "pretty" enough for him, then i would say find some one else to crush on. Because he sounds like a jerk and you don't deserve a jerk like that.

 your friends arent friends if they are lieing i cant see why they would say somthing so hurtful the only thing i can think of is if someone has put him on the spot about you infront of other people and he has panicked if you get me lol my advice to you is to just brush it of and carrie on as normal dont let little things get you down you seem quite confident so just keep your head up and your smile on he will soon relise what he is missing xx
