Hello dearcupiders,

I have a question regarding my breast. I am a size 34 C. My areola are some what big... when they become hard I find that its bumpy... not monstrously bumpy but you can tell around the nipple is not smooth. Is this normal, and one areola is more round then the other. My breast themselves are very soft... but not my areola.

My breasts do that little bumby thing too. Its normal, and its part of the female anatomy. Because our breasts are made to produce milk, the glands that lactate are found on the areola, not the tip of the nipple like most people think. I found this out because I had a benign cist on one of these glands that was a bit painful at first, it has hence gone. But the bumps are probably those glands stiffening from stimulation/cold. Don't worry about it. Be proud of 'dem boobies' as my boyfriend says. LOL.

apathyslastkiss agony auntDear dearcupider,

Listen, all people - men and women, children and adults - come in different shapes, sizes, and no two people share the same anatomy (not even identical twins!). There are lots of women who have large areolas, and there is nothing wrong with that. It's just the luck of the draw really - yours just happen to be somewhat large. Personally, I find that kind of attractive :)

As for one being rounder than the other, again, that is fine, normal and nothing to worry about. The only time we really see so called "perfect breasts" are in movies, (pornographic or otherwise), magazines or t.v., where 9 times out of 10, there has been plastic surgery involved, airbrushing, makeup, deceiving camera angles, computer photo and video editing. Basically, the average woman will not have perfectly symmetrical breasts, in any respect. Nor will a man's testicles be the same shape or size.

The bottom line is, you are who you are, and you're beautiful just as is. If your nipples are sensitive - that's natural too. the little bumps around the sides are fine - lots of people have them.

Enjoy your beautiful and natural breasts - they sound fine!

If you have any health concerns about them, see a doctor.

Otherwise, the little bumps around the areola are Braille for 'suck here' and are quite normal.
