A female reader, anonymous, writes (18 December 2008):

Depends on the girl... there is no universal answer here. Some girls think there's nothing hotter than a big man. Some love a slender man. I know a short girl who won't date a guy under 6'5". I know other girls who love short men. There's no answer to this question. Some will, some won't. Depends on the kind of women you meet.

And its nothing to do with shallow or "looking past your size" or anything like that... its really just an individual preference thing.

Your best bet is to find places online where women look for BHMs (that's what we call "Big Handsome Men").

confessjess agony auntI've been attracted to both thick and thin, it comes down to how you put yourself out there. But truthfully if you see your self as to heavy, you should look at getting to a fitter weight for your self so you can live a longer cleaner lifestyle. It is amazing how many improvements in every aspect of your life you might see when healthier.

It all depends on the girl you want. To me I think its all good as long as he loves me right.

I believe that one should not judge a book by its cover, it really is whats inside that counts. As long as you feel confident in your skin and you take care of your health then don't worry about a thing... some girls may date based on appearance, but those girls are not looking for love or meaning. The girl who you'll stay with and have a family with and who genuinely loves you will care about what inside and you as a person. I hope this helps, I would not be turned off. Best of luck to you!

My guy is a bigger guy and i think he looks so much better than when we first got together and he was skinny. Every girl has different taste.

Lizzybeth01 agony auntI wouldn't say that it's a turn off. However, most (good) women would just be worried about your health. No one wants to be with someone who has health problems or insecurities about their body. If you're happy with yourself that's great. Make sure you're healthy- you want to live a long life and be able to take good care of your wife and future family!
