Is there anyone out there that has had stretch marks and found a routine or product that helped improve them? Can you please share it? Also please describe what your marks looked like and how much of an improvement there was. I would really appreciate people who have actually had first hand experience than people who just say "use cocoa butter" or "bio oil" or whatever simply because it is waht everyone tells you to do!

Please and I am realllyyyy NOT looking for someone giving me advice about how once you have them, you got them for life and nothing you can do along with a sermon about how to learn to accept and love my stretch marks!!! SO if you feel like posting advice like that then please dont bother to do so.

thanks

Ok, re reading your post, you know about bio oil, and cocoa butter, but they are actually things that do work, as well as anything will!

I do have a frind who had cosmetc skin grafts over hers, (which cost her her studeent loan...) and she now has larger patches of scared skin from that... so it is an option but I think it looks better to just have a few strech marks! (everyone has them, guys and girls, big or small and they really arent that bad!! My bf thinks mine are cute lol!)

Hey!

Everyone has strech marks, and they never totally go away, cuz they are where your skin got damaged by you growing too fast (from having a growth spurt, putting on weight, or getting pregnant or whatever... ) so I will be totally honest, I know you didnt want a sermon, which this isnt... but they wont ever totally go away.

That said, Ive got them and dont like them and BioOil is the best thing for it, and Palmers Cocoa Butter formula with Vitamin E. Bio Oil is expensive but works well if you use it for about 2 months, and palmers is much cheaper and works so long as you use it all the time, it keeps them nearly invisable.

Other than that, just any old moisturiser is better than nothin!

Hope this wasnt too much of a sermon, I just dont want you to be expecting miracles, the best you can do is make them less obvious.

Oh and btw, if anyone says exercise, thats bollocks, by the time you see the marks the skin is already damaged, just like a scar. Exercise doesnt get rid of scars now, does it!!

:-D

A female reader, loops United Kingdom +, writes (27 March 2008):

I was told to use hurrendous amounts of moisteriser to prevent them, and also when they first appear to reduce them. Minus that I don't know. I have a chronic bowel condition and as a result have gained and lost weight regulary over the past year, as a result of that I have hundreds, and I mean hundreds of stretch marks on my thighs and hips. My hips are relatively new and are still bright red, my thighs arent so bad now and have faded to almost white, and unless im cold ( they turn purple then) they arent visible unless you really go looking. I know exactly how it feels, but like you have found nothing that works, and bio-oil etc that claim to work dont seem to and are very expensive.
