Not interested in any hormone thing at all (e.g. IUD or injections). We have 2 kids and are not sure enough about #3 for sterilization to be a possibility. Thing is I just can't deal with condoms. They are such a major drag ... I don't feel anything even with the ones that are supposed to be extra sensitive. I have read that lambskin ones might be a good way to go, anyone use these? Anyone have other suggestions?

Hi there,I’ve never used lambskin condoms because they are porous enough to allow STD transmission, such as HIV and HPV. They are mostly used by married couple who don’t want kids, but know neither of them have transmittable illness. So, that’s the short skinny on them. I’d say try them out. Maybe they will work for you! Also, as others have mentioned, The Pill is not the only option for female contraception. There is a monthly shot she can get, the Ring, the Patch, and several other forms. Going to your local family planning clinic can help you both learn about a lot more options. And in case you were wondering, “pulling out” is not a good method to avoiding pregnancy. Pre-ejaculate (pre-cum) contains active sperm cells even before your orgasm. If you’ve ejaculated in the previous day or two, the amount of active sperm is many times higher. Remember, it only takes 1 and those little suckers were built do get the job done!I hope this helps.

The only IUD that is hormone based in Mirena which should remain inserted inside the uterus for five years. However, PARAGUARD IUD is not hormone based. It is a small copper IUD which is also inserted inside the uterus and can remain there for at least ten years! I have it inserted, it only took fifteen minutes at a GYN clinic. I recommend it. I don't recommend lambskin condoms being that these have pores. Some are made of real lamb skin. Therefore, semen can pass and make contact. With the non hormonal copper IUD (paraguard iud) you can have unprotected sex. You and your wife should make an appointment to her GYN/family planning. There, she would be counseled and given the best option. Just suggest paraguard IUD.

I agree with the above person that you should go and see your local family planning clinic (they are not just for teens) and talk about your options.
There is the coil to consider and they will also know about the condoms.
Much as I think this sign is great, professional advice is better than the internet.
Good Luck!! xx

Your wife just needs to try another if that one wasn't working for her2) You can get copper IUD's which are not hormonal and are good for women who already have kids. Lasts up to 10 years.3) What about diaphragms or natural family planning?4) Google "lady comp" for a little device that helps with no hormones5) I would guess the lambskin types are as much or more fuss than regular condoms.Seriously, I would consider the copper IUD. It's expensive upfront, but then that's it. Ten years of safe sex and no hormones! :)
