Wow, no answers from the ladies yet. I almost want to hold off response, but here goes anyway.
To begin with, and I mean this in the best way;
You worry too much.
I'm more worried about YOU, and whatever potential difficulty their might be, if it is a challenge to accommodate him orally.
Just don't do anything that is genuinely uncomfortable for you ( I doubt your b/f would want that), but I think that if you worry more about yourself, thinking in terms of what you can do to make it fun for you, it'll all work out.
My only two personal extremes are "wayyy too slow" or " a bit too aggressive" (borderline painful), but there is a ton of latitude between those two points.  Well as a heterosexual male, I can only offer some advice from a recipient's point of view. As one of the older volunteer advisors with some 45 years of sexual experience, my first suggestion is that guys often need a fair amount of foreplay (arousal) just like a woman. You can accomplish this arousal with a bit of teasing followed by other activities such as licking and kissing the scrotum, shaft and head - licking from base to tip and gently massaging the balls and stroking by hand.
