A male India age , bharat mehta writes:

Article No 2...MEANING OF OBJECT.

... The object, so conceptualized by the word ‘tantra’ is sex organ in a state of erection. So, the object underlines the ideology of ‘eroticism. Here eroticism is principle, or philosophy, and not sexology. Tantra is not about sex but about eroticism.

Sexology is also terms, which indicate two class of entity involved, one is male and other is female. Sexology denotes sexual relationship of male and female. This sexual relationship also divided in to certain category like opposite sex, and same sex. But eroticism indicates such object as it cannot be classified in to any category, but simply indicates an entity: That sex organ in a state of erection.

Here Tantra acquired new features, that this word ‘tantra’ do not stop by indicating object only, but involve with philosophy [ideology]. And, so it is common for thinkers and writers to use such phrase as; Tantra say…Simply, because there is something written in the very texture of object, required to be translated into human language. Tantra does not indicate any possible ‘relationship’, but realization about object itself. I say realization, because object of realization is real, it exists, it has certain characters, it lead certain psychological process, .which is mind’s action. Thus tantra is related with mind, and mind’s certain actions like perception, conception, memory, imagination, creation etc.

Tantra is totally misunderstood by many modern thinkers, because of tantric’s eroticism. But tantra is not for relationship, or relationship is not principle event in tantric ideology. The principle event is mind, and mind’s action, such as perception, conception etc. This mind’s activity is principle event that open the field of philosophy, or science of vision.. So, tantra is science when we take it for cogitation and learning. It is art when male and female decide to learn and live tantric eroticism. It is art because it reveals life itself.

Sexology is totally different from tantra. As a system, tantra evolved from and revolved around sex organ, but tantra do not go for sexual relationship, it is sexology that go for relationship of male and female, and define male and female’s body, its shapes and function, and define love making technique like kissing, hugging, the all realm of intercourse includes foreplay. It defines duty and right in sex relationship etc. Tantra is different. It takes sex organ as an entity which is related with the function of human mind. For tantra relationship is necessary, but it is only necessary to achieve some goal, higher state of awareness, but it do not go for morality of relationship, as relationship is qualify by marriage? Such question is irreverent when one attempt to learn tantra. When question come to live tantra, than relationship became important point, but it is after learning, and not before learning.

Let me summaries the point I have discussed so far.

[1] The first article discusses only the meaning of the word, ‘Tantra’ the ideas of this word indicate sex organ in a state of erection.,

[2] Ideologically Tantra is erotic, and its eroticism is concerned more with mind, and mind’s awareness.

[3] Tantra is not sexology, but its learning qualify human mind to achieve higher state of awareness. It was practiced in ancient time by groups of ascetic people, but my idea is to make tantra popular amongst society, amongst married people, amongst lovers and friends who seek some highest goal in their sexual activity.
