An 'animal in bed' doesn't mean that you must be into that kind of rough sex with your partner. I think what it means is that you're not afraid of expressing yourself in bed, such as the way you dress sexy for him or maybe talking dirty sometimes :P and also taking part in the sex activities, not just waiting for your man to do all the job. And also a woman who's willing to explore and try anything new with her partner, not turning sex into boring routines :)

So many women get completely caught up in what they SHOULD do, or how people will THINK, or are so worried about holding back and trying to be PROPER. That's all well and good, but in the bedroom, men almost universally want a woman to actually just cut loose and let instinct take over. Calling a woman an animal in bed means just that she's actually ACTIVE in bed, which is infinitely preferred to lying there. It's a compliment, at least as much as any discussion about sexual activity can be.

Great title! I'll bet everybody here took at second look at this post! I half-expected something like: "my boyfriend brought the dog into bed with us!" LOL
There likely was no insult meant at all, but I might take umbrage with that term myself, especially if it was being used to discuss me with other people besides myself. If it puts you off, say so, and then watch for other signs of a 'rough' upbringing. That may be fine for a short fling but it gets old fast in a committed relationship.

It's a compliment. Guys use different words than chicks to describe good things. Nothing wrong with that - chicks may use "dreamy" as a sincere compliment, but no guy will ever do so. Just different languages.
In this context, it means a girl who is full of energy, who is really passionate and physical during sex. Moves around a lot, with good rythym. The kind who would bite, scratch, and shout. Sounds great to me.

It usually means that the girl's adventurous, crazy, kinky, rough, dominating, etc.
