Am I wrong or getting mixed signals?

Question - (3 January 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 3 January 2008)
A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

Maybe someone can help me with this one... I met this guy at work a few months ago, and when ever we see each other he winks at me and we chit chat with each other and thats it. Today, he comes up from behind and puts his hand on my back and slowly moves it up my back and when he's in front of me he then winks at me. I catch the guy outside and ask him what's this all about and he plays it off like he doesn't know and then tells me... "I don't know, you're friendly, nice, handsome" and hes smiling at me when hes telling me this, so I ask him if he's single and he says no, and I just tell him "okay, just curious to know." We say bye to each other and that's it. Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on because I'm not sure if I'm reading his actions toward me wrong or just getting mixed signals from him.

A female reader, KarenY United Kingdom +, writes (3 January 2008):

KarenY agony aunthi there, look sometimes it can be really interesting to play along but watch out when doing this, some guys are only after one thing and if he says he aint single either means he doesnt wanna feel demoted or he actually isnt single. leave it for a little while and if things are going to happen they will happen for a reason. things like this take time and if you really like him let him know how you feel.
