I am a happy with myself, I eat pretty healthy like a lot of fruits and veggies but when my roomies make cupcakes or cookies I am always up to have some. I dont cut fat out of my diet but I do try to eat well for health reasons however i dont see anything wrong with stuff in moderation.I am at peace with myself, sleep well, get very good grades, have lots of friends plus a boyfriend who loves my skinnyness. I go out on the weekends when i dont have an exam coming up and very involved with my premed club. Im also I marathon runner and I run a lot. I run 2 marathons a year and also run open xc races and as well as 10k and 5k track races through out they year. To be honest with you I really like the way I look but some people at the club this weekend said I looked gross and anorexic when they saw me with my boyfriend. My boyfriend and friends told me to ignore them because they were probably jealous. Maybe cause the girls who said it were about my height and a bit heavyset.I just wanted to see other people opinions.thanks for your time

Hi Jenny,
I recently finished a book about anorexia nervosa, the woman in the book found an acceptable weight of 115 pounds at 5foot7inches and was able to live healthily within that frame work, having suffered severe malnutrition up till that point.
Although you are very slim, I believe it is your relationship with food which is crucial rather than your precise weight. If you feel as though you a preoccupied with food and counting calories and/or purging either infrequently or frequently, then you may have a real issue to be worried about.
Being underweight can cause other side effects such as depression and mood swings. If you are happy, relaxed and have fulfilling relationships with others then the chances are you are fine and just have a naturally small frame. We are all built differently with different natural weight tendancies.
If you are happy, then try not to worry about the oppinions of others, just enjoy the pleasures of healthy eating and feeling fit and at peace with yourself.
