 New research is hsowing that this is not as much of a problem as previously thought. Go and see your GP and have a chat to her about it. It may be better (depending on which pill you use) if you skip your 7 day break and go onto your next pack straight away. This will not harm you in any way. But to set your own mind at rest I recommend you go see your healthcare provider.

 NO. You should always use further protection when using the contrapceptive pill if you miss a Pill. You should use extra contraception for 7 days after the missed pill. The combined pill you can take upto 7 hours late,(although not recommended) the mini pill you only get 3 hours, if you fail to take one at all you will without a doubt be able to become pregnant. To avoid any lapse in protection it is alwasy sensible to take the pill at the same time of day,every day, either when you awaken or before you go to bed at night. This time that you have missed your pill, whilst you were unprotected when you had sex, it doesnt have to mean you would have fallen pregnant, its just a higher risk, if this is within 72 hours I would advise taking the morning after pill just to be on the safe side. There is no guaranteed safe time of not falling pregnant when missing a pill, doesnt matter how close you are to you 7 day break you can still fall pregnant. With a bit of a luck you will be okay this time around, but in future always use extra protection.
