Am I still protected if I changed my contraceptive pill brand?

Question - (11 June 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 11 June 2010)
A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Tonight my boyfriend and I just had sex-and he came inside of me, but he had a condom on, however when he pulled out the condom was still inside of me, and all the fluid came out of it and went everywhere.

I've been taking birth control for a year now, but then last week my doctor changed it from Alesse to Marvelon.

Also for the past 2 days I've been taking it at irregular times; which I know shouldn't be done, but I couldn't help it due to the situation I was in at those times.

Anyways my question is, am I still protected from getting pregnant? or Is there a possibility due to me switching bcp, and taking my pill at random times?

Please help! I'm very concerned, and I feel if anything happens then I'm the one that caused it due to me being irresponsible.

Thank-you.

On the days I didn't take it at the right time, I still took them. I didn't miss a day whatsoever; just I'm not sure if I can still get pregnant even though I had taken them on those days, but I didn't take them at the right time. Am I still protected?

Changing the pill brand will not have any effect, they all contain the same ingredients.

However, using your pill at irregular times will have an effect. You could still get pregnant because you're not protected for the days that you didn't take it.
