writes: I'm so scared about having sex that it's stopping me.I want to have sex with my boyfriend but my fear of pregnancy puts me off.I'm on the pill, we'd use a condom and i even said to him i might tell him to pull out early just to clear worries from my mind even more.With the pill and a condom, how safe am i?And why am i so scared of pregnancy?I don't want a child but no one else my age is so worried about it that it stops them.

Keep in mind that there are ONLY ONE 100% effective method of birthcontrol. Abstinence.
However, using a combination of birth control, used properly, will increase your protection. The best person to talk about it with is your Doctor.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 June 2011): The pill, condoms, and pulling out all together would be the best. You can even add spermicidal foam/gel into the mix if you want(though I find it un-comfortable and so does my BF)
Just remember to take your pill the same time every day, check the condom from time to time while having intercourse(though don't ask every two minutes, that would probably kill the mood :P) and follow the directions for using a condom and if you use it, the spermicidal gel.

if you are taking the pill regularly daily at the same time and make sure not to take it with antacids or antibiotics you should be fine
and condoms add to the safety for many reasons and are a great idea....
