reader, anonymous, writes (4 February 2011): Several of my men friends have been much younger so what? Life is for living and if you like each other go for it-there is nothing wrong with huge age gaps sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but that is the same for any age group

if you were 34 and your gf were 18
i would say the the age gap is vry big
but as way grow older this simple equasion become different
and so i believe that the gap between you(56) and your gf(40) is very acceptable
if you love her dont leave her

 After a certain age, the gap kind of becomes smaller for most people. If the two of you share a lot in common, have a great relationship and enjoy each other I don't think those 16 years makes much of a difference.

I mean, it's strange , well, not strange of course, let's say unusual you have come up with this question. Seeing that so many mature males seek and lust after younger women, even younger than 16 years less as in your case,that they have no qualms about it and that socially it's widely considered acceptable. Does it bother you for some reason ? Are you concerned about something in particular ? Is there a big difference in sex drive, are your friends and family making comments....?
