It only makes sense that if he is disrespecting me then he will also mistreat our child.

I have a song that might help you, because it seems to reflect your situation. I interpreted the lyrics to be a song about a guy who is in a loveless relationship and knows it but keeps denying it out of fear of upheaval, out of fear of being adrift. I think you would relate to it, and I believe in the song, sometimes it's hard to leave but it's the best thing.

Tell your mama I love her
Tell your daddy I tried
Tell them I wish that I could explain
The way that I'm feeling
See the sun comes up on the pavement
The pavement it starts to sweat
The steam rises up from the water
And the hotter it is you know the harder it gets
And it ought to be easier
When you turn your lights down low
And it ought to be easier
To leave when you know that you have to go
I know you don't believe me
And I know you don't understand
But honey the way that you treat me
I can't even tell who I am
And you tell me I'm the one you're not to blame
And you tell me I make you feel the same way
And we talk in circles but we never say
It's just out of weakness that both of us stay
And it ought to be easier
When you turn your lights down low
And it ought to be easier
To leave when you know that you have to go
I look at you when you're sleeping
And I think about how it could be
If you would wake up and open your arms
And hold me
But you look at me when you wake up
With eyes that are angry and mean
And I turn away and walk into the kitchen
And I pray for the strength to leave
Because it ought to be easier
When you turn your lights down low
And it ought to be easier
To leave when you know that you have to go
To leave when you know that you have to go
So tell your mama I love her
I hope she knows that I tried
Tell her I wish that I could explain
The way that I'm feeling
See the suns comes up on the pavement
The pavement it starts to sweat
The steam rises up from the water
And the hotter it is you know the harder it gets
The hotter it is you know the harder it gets
The hotter it is you know the harder it gets

I have been through that before and i am a single mom. I tell you what, it is better to be a single mom than to have someone not respect your kid. You kid comes first. Then when you least expect it, you will find someone who adores kids and will not treat her that way.

That's no reason to be in a relationship. It sucks to be single because we all want, and need, someone to share our lives with. You don't say what he does to your daughter, but if he's mistreating your daughter and making your life a living hell, it defeats the purpose.
Little children deserve to grow up with love, and your daughter doesn't deserve this kind of environment. Like I said, it sucks to be single, but there are much better guys out there. I know that it takes courage to walk away from any relationship, but one day you might meet someone decent, and look back, and say, "Oh man, I can't believe that I almost settled for a creep."
Be strong, and leave him. This relationship doesn't sound like it's worth the misery it's caused you.
Good luck. :)

Hi,
I am glad that you stand up for your daughter! She will thank you for it in the long run. Take it from someone who knows (my mom never stood up for me, I had to stand up for myself). He is not worth it. There is nothing wrong with being a single mom and there are so many guys out there! *smile*.
Please do what is best for you and your daughter and find someone who will love and respect both you and your daughter
Best wishes
