writes: Okay, my best friend and I have been friends since the first grade. We were always hanging out, we were even on the same swim team for five years. I've known him my entire life! When we got into middle school, things got even more complicated. For instance, in the 6th grade I always gave him hugs. he always smiled at me. When I thought things were getting weird between us, I started to ignore him. In 7th grade we came close again. We were always laughing about how much taller he is than me. Now, the summer before 8th grade.... he got a girlfriend. His first real one. She's one of my best friends and I like her. But the thing is, his friend said that my best friend was only dating her to make me jealous. I didn't like that. But when they were going out for a long time, they fell in love. I sort of was mad at him. Falling in love? I didn't expect it. Soon, she broke up with him. I was the first to know. I talked him through it he said, "Thanks, your such a good friend." and I couldn't help but be proud. When they broke up, I got an instinct that he was going to like me again. Since he started texting me first. When he started texting me again I said, "Oh boy, here we go again." and I thought it was the same thing over again. I actually don't mind him liking me, if he even does like me. I've been friend with him for a very long time.I do have to admit, I was a little jealous that they were going out. Since she was a year older than him, and I was in all of his classes. Every time I'm with him, I'm actually happy. Happier than I am with any other guy. I can't help but think... Am I in love with him? Do I actually like him?

No one can answer that question apart from you. Just think to yourself, how do you feel when he's around? Do you ever want to kiss him, or want to just lie there with him, all cuddled up?
Usually, when you get with someone, it's something that just happens, so I wouldn't push myself too much if I were you, but if you're ever alone with him and it feels right then you could try kissing him, and see how it feels.
But if he really wants to go out with you and you just want him as a friend, make sure that he knows that.
Good Luck
