In support of everything "jessica04" contributed - and you are of no blame whatsoever. Her masturbation may have revealed some other possible problem, which is good if it prevents a worsening situation. She probably needs more medical examination. It may also simply activated the preexisting kidney stone thing. No guilt, dude. Just be supportive and good for her.

Kidney stones are from mineral deposits that build up in the system and don't get flushed from the kidney. As far as I know, it's not from a UTI.
However, if she is using foreign objects that aren't clean as tools to masturbate with, she may have given herself a UTI, or, Urinary Tract Infection. These can turn into kidney infections if left untreated.
If she is already seeing a doctor for her kidney stone, she needs to ask him to put her on something for UTI or kidney infections.
You two did nothing wrong. Just have her talk to her doctor. And next time she masturbates, she needs to make sure her hands are clean, and that anything she uses as a dildo is clean. Also, if she can urinate, even a tiny bit after wards, that will help flush bacteria out of the urinary tract.
