I don't rate myself too highly (I'm not good looking and am partially disabled, though this doesn't always show to people who don't know) and she is exceptionally good looking. Anyway, she said she wanted to meet up this week, and also in August, for a massive birthday party for her friend. Today she emailed saying she can't make it - then suddenly sent another email saying she's sprained her ankle and she'll be out of action for 6 weeks according to her doctor.Sigh. I'm no medic, but I'm sure a sprained ankle doesn't take 6 weeks to heal. Is this just a brush off? Please feel free to tell it like it is, I'm not offended and have a nagging 'spider sense' vibe that this is just the usual BS. Don't know why I even got my hopes up...anyway, any feedback would be great, thanks.

It is a brush off and you have the choice now to accept it or to take it as a test. Don't get needy but at the same time let her know, nicely, that a) you know what she is doing and b) that it doesn't matter that much because you've got other things to be doing.I might go for something along the lines of "Wow, you seem really delicate. Do you always break that easily? I have to be out of town for a week or so anyway but when I'm back I'll drop by and see you. Would the invalid prefer fruit or flowers?"If she replies telling you to get lost then you are pretty much done. If she replies in any way that leaves the door open then wait 3 days and then reply ...
