The expenses were adding up so I switched to black tea by the same company which was cheaper. Now I buy black tea in bulk from supermarkets (100 tea bags for just $4) and brew it myself at home. I have it every day when I wake up. It's been three months since I started buying caffeine and one month since I switched to homebrewed black tea. As soon as I switched to homebrewed however I became very tired. I believe it's because it has much less caffeine than my [brand name] tea. I drink it every day because 1) I love the taste and 2) I'm addicted to it... Or I think I am. Is it okay if I drink black tea every day for the rest of my life? I know some teas have health benefits but I'm scared I will get headaches if I don't have access to caffeine one day. I'm prone to getting migraines when I'm tired, and one of the reasons I began taking caffeine is because a little caffeine can reduce headache. Is drinking one cup of black tea every day okay?

Tea does not dehydrate you. That's just a myth.

Coffee is awesome! It is the world's most used stimulant. Of course, like anything else, too much is not the greatest for you:1. It may give you stomach problems2. After getting used to it for awhile, your body will get used to the 'caffeine high' and you'll have to use more of it3. If you use too much, you may get headaches (as you've discovered). That said, one cup a day is not going to harm you, especially if you drink it black (believe it or not, it's only about 3-ish calories too, if you drink it black).Don't overuse it, and you'll be fine.If you find your headaches are a bit too much, that may be a sign that you're drinking way too much, and weaning off a bit is a good idea. Aside from that, coffee doesn't really have any negative affects and may in fact help you in the long run in terms of health.

I heard for every cup of tea you need two cups of water afterwards? Or more even, 5 maybe? Anyway, tea dehydrates you. Drink lots of water.

tea can actually have more caffeine than coffee if you brew it strongly enough...
one cup of caffeine laced drink a day won't hurt you.
I drink coffee every day... usually 2-3 cups of it before i switch to decaf.
I also drink HERBAL tea.
for every cup of caffeine you have you need to drink a glass of water to help balance it out... so says my doctor.

Caffeine is a stimulant and I use it solely for exercise and encourage the same. Take it in pill form it is way cheaper than coffee and will cut back expenses. Black tea has many benefits however I would say ur addiction could lead to other stimulant addictions if not disciplined with ur intake. I suggest weening off of caffeine and slowly decreasing ur intake over the course of two weeks then completely avoid at least for 8 weeks and start a better diet with better foods to give u energy. Talk to a doctor.

If you get headaches unless you get caffeine then you are addicted. The best way to cure the headaches isn't to drink more caffeine, but to cut it out.
Start drinking green or white tea.
Although, I don't think one cup a day is anything to be concerned about. It's more a concern if you experience headaches because your body "needs" the caffeine. I drink several cups of tea a day, and when I'm at work I drink several cups of coffee. The coffee cups are small, but still it does amount to something. However I never get headaches, and I can go for days without drinking coffee or tea without experiencing any discomforts.
As long as you are not experiencing problems then you are not addicted. But, you are experiencing problems with being tired, having headaches etc. So my advice to you is to cut out the caffeine completely, or reduce it to a minimum. Green tea or white tea has no caffeine, but it is still a hot beverage that tastes great. It takes some getting used to, because the taste is so subtle, but once you get used to it it's great. Green tea comes in several different tastes. I drink mostly green tea for the exact same reason as you mention, because I drink several cups a day (every day usually), and I don't want to have too much caffeine.

Drinking tea everyday is actually a GOOD thing, so yes, you can drink it for the rest of your life and shouldn't see any negative side effects.
Here is another website that can tell you the health benefits of drinking tea.

Hope that helped!

Couldn't drink tea as it doesn't have the same kick or taste. Also drink pure fruit juice and water and in winter hot chocolate too.
Tea has caffiene, if you want to kick the addiction then maybe try one of the fruit or herbal teas.Do some online research or pop to a health shop and get some advice.
