He noticed he had it first and asked me about it, raised a few questions about whether i had been cheating. Then said that his flatmate had had it too, and maybe he had caught it from living with him. Then I noticed i hd it.What do you think? Am I being an idiot here? He did have partners right up until we got together - could it have been from then?xxx

Sorry i am female but yes it is possible to as Dr Psych has said to get them from bed linen towels so he could have caught them from his flat mate. are sure he wasnt the one who cheated and gave them his flat mate you may never know get treated all of you and ensure the bed linen and clothes are given a hot wash.

It is possible to get crabs from non-sexual contact (shared bed linen is the usual culprit) but it is unusual because it requires fairly close contact (...you have to share a bed, linen, towels etc with someone else). The important thing to do is get treatment and decontaminate any clothing or linen by washing them at high temperature and you can get a spray to treat items too. As for your cheating question - there is no answer to that I am afraid! It is possible he could have had them a long time but typically they itch and cause a rash that prompt people to go looking and find something unexpected! These symptoms usually prompt fairly quick identification of the problem. He may have acquired them by cheating or a prior relationship or from his flat mate.
