Gabrielle Stoker agony auntLife is tough. 5 days a week is still better than many people. Count your blessing and try to make the best of the weekends.

Well he needs to make a living. It's not his fault that he has to work the hours he does. But you could talk to him about it and maybe you two could work out a period of time you guys could spend together.

celtic_tiger agony auntIf that is his job, then there isnt anything you or he can do about it.

How old are you and how old is he? If you are still only 18 then you are probably still in the lifestyle where weekends are about partying and going out and "socialising". If he is older, he may not have this as his main weekend priority.

Most people work 5 days a week. You cant really complain about that. He sounds like he has quite a high pressure job, with long hours. What does he do? Sometimes this is just part of the job, he may not get a choice. He either does the work, or doesnt have a job. If he has forms or paperwork he HAS to do before he can finish. Doctors for example, they cant just clock off, they have to finish what they started, Lawyers, Teachers (I have lost count the number of evenings and weekends I have lost to marking and lesson plans and admin.

Give him a bit of slack - if you were working hours like that, I am sure you would be knackered! The poor bloke is probably just very very tired. He is catching up on the sleep he should be getting during the week.

Remember, if he doesnt get enough sleep, he could get sick. if he gets sick due to lack of sleep, things could get very bad for him. Exhaustion is dangerous.
