reader, anonymous, writes (9 June 2007): It's hard to tell. We'd need more details. However, I'm sure YOU like him. Be aware that this might make you think he "fancies" you when he only "likes" you. I see that you wouldn't like to come forward not being certain what's going on, and that's commendable.
You should first make sure whether he only likes you or fancies you. And then you can ponder how your sister would take it if you were with him.

 Well it does sound like he likes you, from the hugging etc.
But if your sister also likes him i would tread very carefully. Friendships are broke up over "love" and your sister i always gonna be much closer than your friend. So if she likes him aswell i would say that you both rather not date him. As if one does the other will get extremly hurt and resent the other. Which should not happen with siblings. Even though it does. But it should not happen over boys.
