But when I'm in an air conditioned building, I seem to pick up these wierd bugs every few weeks. I know they're bugs, because my partner will catch it from me etc and others at work complain of the same symptoms. But I seem to be getting these things all the time.. just in the air conditioning. I'm so sick of it, if we weren't in tough economic times, I'd be thinking of leaving my job! I'm sick of feeling sick! I wondered whether anyone else has the same thing from working in an air conditioned building?

I doubt it has to do with the air conditioning, stomach bugs aren't airborne. You should bring a sweater to work to keep warmer and wash your hands more. Being cold only increases your odds of catching airborne illnesses, but it couldn't hurt. Hand sanitizers do not kill stomach bugs (none of them), so wash more and pay attention to keeping your hands away from your face.
If others at work are getting stomach bugs, you need to be especially vigilant with not touching your face or eating/snacking unless you wash your hands first. People touch their faces/mouths way more than they realize. I broke the habit of chewing on my nails, rubbing eyes, etc... and I've been a heck of a lot healthier since.
Most stomach bugs are spread when a sick food worker comes in, so if you typically eat in the building cafeteria, try brown bagging it (but wash your hands first) or eating elsewhere.
