It is normal to have a soft spot for an ex, you did go out with them for a reason, and often it's easier to remember why you were going out with them than why you split up with them, this is especially the case if you are single.
But once you are in a relationship with someone else although you will have some fond memories that you and your ex shared, you will not feel the way you did, and if your new partner is better than your ex you will start to remember why you two spilt up.
It's just one of those things, I am still in contact with my ex and if she has a loss in her family etc, I will offer my support, but I certainly wouldn't want to get back with her!

Yes you do and it is completely natural not to you, but to everyone else. When you love someone and you guys break apart there is always still going to be some chemistry still there between you two. I don't care if you guys break up, say you hate each other, and never see each other again, the both of you will always love each other and even if you lose that love, you will always care about each other.
