After I accepted his invitation, I hadn't heard from him for a week. Should I give him the cold shoulder?

Dear various agony relatives,

A guy who I know through friends and I have been emailing each other. I happen to be interested in him, but want to know a bit more about him (chances are he likes a lot of people right now).

He asked me if I would like to go for coffee, and I agreed, letting him know when I'm around (it's summer, people travel for work and fun).

One week since then, no response from him.

Does it matter whether he meant this as a friendly coffee, or a get to know you coffee (instinct says it is flaky either way).

Am I officially allowed to give the brute the cold shoulder the next time I see him?

Next time you see him ask: "What about that coffee?"

and watch his reaction... That should tell you a lot. Good luck!
