Also, the mucus down the throat, AND the stomach acid also act as a defence against most oral STDs. HOWEVER, you CAN STILL get these, especially (or better yet, definitely) if you have an open wound in your mouth. Hope that helped! x

Yes, you can get HIV from oral sex. HIV is transmitted though contact with blood or body fluids. It is present in both cum and precum. If you give your boyfriend a bj and ANY of his cum or precum get in your mouth, even if you then spit, and even if you dont have a cut in your mouth (as the previous poster suggested), you
CAN get HIV! It is best then to use a condom, even during oral sex. And yes, the same can happen in reverse. If you have HIV and he goes down on you, he can get it because all your sexual fluids will be entering his body orally. Be cautious, be honest and get tested to be sure.

Hi Fayie,Oral sex includes all the gestures, manipulations, done with the mouth on the genital parts. For example: licking or sucking the other persons' sex part.HIV can be transmitted this way if blood is in contact w/ saliva or sperm. For example: If one of you or both have aids (which I hope not), you have a bleeding gum and he ejaculates or has pre-sperm in your mouth you can get HIV and in rarer cases he can too from you.If he does a cuniligus (licking you down there), he can get the virus if you are bleeding or have a wound there, but you can not get it from his saliva unless he somehow got sperm (from you) into his mouth before.HIV is transmitted through pre-sperm, sperm, blood, and in rare cases muccous = the liquid in the penis or vagina. One can not get it purely from saliva.Do ALWAYS protect each other with condoms (with condom lubricant, to avoid busting) if you are not sure of the possiblity of both of you having or getting aids.Get a 1st blood test done when you get together, but protect each other for 3 months and stay w/ the same partner, to take a second and definite blood test 3 months on. If you are both not contaminated and healthy (no other MST's), then you can make love w/ out protection. Make sure your man is trustworthy though. Not cheating you. And you not cheating him. Be very clean, wash hands, mouth and genitals before having intercourse. For more details do ask a doctor. I think "Doctors without frontiers" are also in Zimbabwe and they give free good advice and free condoms. They also have blood tests done for free.Good luck, angelina

Oral sex is mouth to genital stimulation. You can't get pregnant from oral sex, but there is a chance you can contract hiv from oral sex.
