But I have a few concerns. 1) I know it's recommended that you don't ask a girl out in front of a lot of people (for your sake and hers) so I was wondering how I can take her aside and ask her out when pretty much everywhere on campus is full of people. 2) I already have an idea of what to do for a date which is to ask her if she would like to come to a hockey game with me (we both like hockey) but I was wondering if this would be too much for a first date and if so what would be a good alternative. also how can I make sure she knows I'm asking her for a date, not just 2 "friends" getting together?any help is appreciated thanks,,

I suggest that you put the "date" thing on the back burner and say to her: "I'm planning to go to the hockey game on (whatever day). Would you like to come along?"
IF she sez "yes," then you have a sort of date.... you're in the same place that she is... and you can improvise from there....
Good luck...
