So many people suffer from many different forms of anxiety. Our world is filled with people trying to prey on our insecurities, capitalize on our fears, sell us a pill to make us prettier, thinner, stronger, smarter, smooth-skinned, white-teethed, big-breasted, have the breath of a cool winter breeze, the list goes on and on. It's hard to imagine that anyone who watches TV regularly wouldn't be just riddled with worries about being "normal" enough to fit in.

I'm not exempt, I am a long time sufferer of anxiety, particularly social anxiety. Being intellectual is not enough to overcome a matter of neurochemical imbalance. You cannot reason your way out of feeling anxious about school, work, or public speaking. So, many of us turn to prescription drugs to help ease to sleep the nagging voice in the back of our mind telling us we're doing everything wrong, or that everything will go wrong despite our efforts.

Many different sedatives and a few different Beta blockers can be prescribed to calm your body and mind. They work just fine, and dosages can be increased to suit acute attacks of anxiety. Klonopin is my personal favorite because it is so mild, and very hard to overdose on. It's an extremely safe drug to treat anxiety and it takes a long time to build a tolerance to it.

One of the alternatives is Xanax. It is extremely addictive. It induces feelings of euphoria and relaxation, followed by apathy. It is very potent, even the lowest dose will knock you on your ass for a few hours. And most doctors are willing to prescribe it because they get what is called a "consulting fee" which is paid to them by the pharmaceutical company(Pfizer), and if done the correct way can be perfectly LEGAL. That's right, the drug companies can legally bribe doctors to prescribe more of their brand of medication.

I have personally known three people who overdosed and died with Xanax in their system. One of them was my best friend's boyfriend with whom we were all very close in my group. She and his parents were obviously devastated and are now seeking legal justice, so I can't really talk anymore about the details.

Xanax addiction is real, it's very serious, and I would be happy if I could prevent just one person from going down that road. Especially when all they're looking for is peace of mind. Please check out the alternatives, they are just as good and non-addictive.
