reader, anonymous, writes (26 June 2010): Stay virgin. It will do you a lot of favours. It isn't about the virgin being the good person and the person who lost it at 13-14 being the bad person. Most girls will tell you that losing their virginity was a mistake - you dont need to lose it to "comply" with society... to some guys... a virgin is more points, to some guys... its a no no.... but if you want real love, if you find that someone they will very much respect it.
Generally speaking guys who lose their virginity to a virgin or take a females virginity - who are in a loving relationship - will stay with them - no cheating. it develops a special bond.

I'm sure there has been cases of virgins going unnoticed throughout time immemorial. However, being a virgin is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, sweetie. This really isn't a millstone about your neck to be rid of as soon as possible. Focus on getting well. THEN cross that bridge when you come to it. You only have it once, really, there's nothing to worry about here. Get well soon!
